All I want for Thanksgiving are my two bottom teeth!

Aaron's teeth are getting bigger by the day! Finally they are big enough to really see in a photo, so I had to show them off for him!

Aaron's favorite sound

Right now Aaron is really into making this sound where he makes noise on inhalation. We think it's pretty funny. He's really close to crawling and gets up on his hands and knees and rocks. Often times he will surge himself forward and do a nice little belly flop type of move! He's pusing hiself and pulling himself all over the floor- soon he'll be all over the house. There's even a bit of whining in here for you to see- we've been hearing some of that lately, especially since his two teeth have really been poking through! Here's a look!

Going bananas!

Aaron started his adventure with fruits this week on Monday and guess what? He loves bananas! Here's a look.

Green beans, squash and carrots

Aaron has now eaten all of the first veggies and has loved them all equally! Here are some shots of him with green beans, squash and carrots. On Monday he'll move on to fruits.... yummy!

Mr. Giggly

I decided to try adding a little video so that everyone could see Aaron in action! Here is a clip of Tim making Aaron laugh while they were playing with a little hammer that goes with one of his toys, along with a bit of tickling! I also tried to get a close up of Aaron's 2 teeth!

Peas...

Aaron made his first funny faces yesterday in reaction to a food. Up until then, he'd loved everything that we've fed to him, but he wasn't sure about the first two bites of peas! After getting through those bites, he decided that they actually tasted ok and ended the feeding with peas on his mouth and a big smile on his face!!!

More pictures of Aaron in the pool!

I forgot to put up some of these cute pictures of Aaron in the pool. Guess I'm wishing for a pool right now, so this helps!

6 month update

Just a quick update from Aaron's appointment with the pediatrician today. For starters, while we were waiting in the exam room, Aaron was chewing on my finger and I felt the pokes of his first tooth! I had been checking his mouth so often and finding nothing, that I just stopped checking for the little pokers! Well, teething has officially started and Aaron is working on his first tooth (one of the front teeth on the bottom).

He weighed in at 20 pounds, which is in the 90th percentile, is 27 3/4 inches long, which is between the 75th and 90th percentiles, and has a head circumference of 45 1/2, which is in the 95th percentile. In summary - we've got a big boy on our hands!!! Dr. Kazdin said that Aaron looks wonderful and she was thrilled with all of his progress. I don't suppose that it hurt his case when it came to impressing her that we could hear her in the room next door to us before our appointment with a child who was screaming very loudly! She was having a blast with Aaron who was smiling and laughing at her, being his usual charming self!

Aaron got his 6 month shots, as well as a flu shot, so we had to go out to the waiting room and stay there for 20 minutes so they could make sure that he didn't have any reaction to the flu shot. In the waiting room, Aaron thoroughly entertained a mom and dad with twin boys who were 2 days older than him, with is smiling, laughing, and making funny, loud noises! Then, he had a total diaper blowout... the kind where you just have to throw away the onesie, becuase you don't even want to take it home with you! Just thought I'd share, because needless to say- it was a very eventful trip to the doctors office today!

Weekend fun!

This past weekend (Nov 7,8) Tim, Aaron, and I met my Mom and Dad, Dan, Amy, Brett, and Claire, in Galena for a fun weekend together. We were bummed that Tony, Angie, Emma, Jacob, and Olivia weren't able to join us, but glad that we'll be seeing them in a few weeks for Thanksgiving.

The hotel that we stayed at had a couple of water slides, so we spent quite a bit of time in the pool. It was pretty loud in there with the water going down the slides and Aaron wasn't too sure about it the first time that we went on Friday night. He didn't cry, but just kind of looked around like where in the heck am I?! Each day he liked it more and by Sunday he was smiling and laughing in the pool. On Saturday afternoon we browsed the cute little shops/wineries on the main street of Galena for a couple of hours, which was a lot of fun! It was awesome for us all to catch up and the kids had a great time together. Aaron is catching Claire in the size department and probably ony weighs a couple of pounds less than she does at 19 months! Aaron loves watching the two of them and they adore him. Brett can make him laugh like nobody else can- he thinks that Brett is hilarious! And Claire liked playing with the toys that we brought that used to be hers and she was even willing to share with him!

We are so blessed to have such amazing family. Thanks for the fun guys!

More weekend fun!

6 months old!

We don't know where the time has gone, but our baby boy is 6 months old today! We are having so much fun watching him grow into an adorable little boy. He will go to the pediatrician next week, so I'll update his stats, but we're pretty sure that he's at least 20 pounds! Aaron continues to be happy 99% of the time, which we feel SO thankful for. He loves to roll around on the floor, pull/push/try to crawl (especially on the hard wood floor), take baths, be naked and have his clothes taken off, chew on his toys and activate the ones that have music, listen to music and us singing songs, be tickled, jump in his excersaucer, "talk", laugh, play peek-a-boo, and be tossed up in the air! He loves his cereal and now his sweet potatoes too! He's moved on to the fastest nipple, for 6+ months, but his interest in bottles varies depending on where his is and what's going on. He is pretty easily distracted from his bottle and at times he really like to "sip" on his bottle, rather than really get down to business and chow the whole thing down. He eats the best at his last feeing of the day, where he usually pounds at least 7 ounces and often all 8 ounces! Things that Aaron does not like- the initial going to sleep (he usually cries for a few minutes, but sometimes up to 15 minutes before going to sleep), having his face washed, staying still enough to get his clothes and diaper changed (sometimes I'm sweating by the time we finish this- it's a real workout), 5:30-6 (this is when he's getting tired and often gets a little cranky- our solution is to remove some clothes and he gets happy pretty fast), and when Connor screams (he will often look at him and start to cry). Other than that, he starts whining when he's getting tired or hungry and is happy the rest of the time. He's becoming much more steady when he's sitting, but I wouldn't quite call him an independent sitter yet. He's so close to crawling, as you'll see in these pictures- he gets himself up on his arms and legs and pushes himself forward, he just hasn't gotten the part where you have to coordinate your arms and legs yet! Thanks for checking in on us- hope that you're doing well!

I love sweet potatoes!

Last night, Aaron experienced his first taste of vegetables! I was advised by my friend, Christina (who has a son, Blaine, that is one day older than Aaron) to start with sweet potatoes, so that's what we did and Aaron LOVED them! He ate the entire container (after pounding an 8 oz bottle) and whined when the were gone like he wanted more! The funny thing was, he didn't even make a funny face or anything- he acted like he's been eating sweet potatoes for ages! We think we've got an eater on our hands here!

More sitting handsome pics...

And some of the falling too! You can't learn to sit without doing some falling over! Usually he falls to the side, but sometimes he goes straight back. Guess we'll have to practice all of our sitting on the carpet for now!

Sitting pretty, errr, handsome!

Aaron is becoming more steady every day with his sitting. If his attention is forward (and he's not trying to get to something on his sides), he can sit independently for several minutes at a time. Just yesterday he started catching himself with his arm when he's starting to fall, not that this necessarily keeps in from falling in the end, but it gives him a little more time in the sitting position! And it turns out that the crazy side position with his arm up in the air may be a useful pose when trying to sit up on his own. Yesterday he was in that pose and got his little legs and butt underneath him and almost sat up on his own! Almost.... not quite there yet though! Enjoy the pics!
