11 weeks old!

Just a quick note to update everyone on how things are going at the Coenen household!  We are having a fun and busy summer.  Aaron is getting bigger by the minute- it's amazing how quickly they change at this age!  He is holding his head up very well now and is really getting to be a mover and a shaker!  He moves all around in his crib at night.  When you put him down on his back at one end of the crib, he usually ends up on his side and turned at least 90-180 degrees.  I really want to sit there and watch it happen some night, so I can see how he does it!  The other night I came in to check on him because he was grunting and making noises.  It was about 5 or 10 minutes after I put him down for bed and he had both of his legs sticking out of the crib between the bars!!! We are definitely going to have to keep our eyes on this guy!

We had a great time with Dan, Amy, Brett, and Claire visiting over the 4th of July.  The highlights were 2 Brewer games and a tour of Miller Park!  Go Brew Crew!

Aaron had his first visit to the swimming pool this week, with our friends Kate and Connor.  He really enjoyed it, but didn't love it when the hat that he was wearing kept coming down over his face!  He's spending lots of time with his buddy Connor (Kate and I have begun our day care share) and we think they will be fast friends. If only we could keep Connor's hands out of Aaron's mouth, nose, and eyes!!!

Aaron is smiling all the time now and is starting to laugh a lot too!  He's very interested in his hands and likes to bang them together, as if he's a little boxer or something!  Tim thinks it's hilarious when he accidentally hits himself in the face with them!

Aaron is such a fun little boy and we are so blessed to have him as part of our family.  Thanks for checking in on us- we'll update again soon!

2 months old!

Aaron turned 2 months old on July 7th!  He is growing and changing daily and is getting to be such a big boy.  At our 2 month appointment with the pediatrician, he weighed in at 13 pounds and 2 ounces (just under the 75 percentile) and was 23 inches long (75th percentile).  He continues to be a very good boy with a fairly calm and laid back demeanor.  Aaron is smiling and cooing up a storm now and is starting to giggle.  He loves to lay in his crib and look at his fish mobile, take baths, and cuddle!  He has slept through the night a few times, but is usually getting up one time during the night for a feeding at about 3-4 am.  He typically gives us a good 6 hour stretch of sleep in the nights, so we won't complain too much about that!  We'll be anxiously awaiting the day that he is consistently sleeping through the night!

We really appreciate all of the cards, phone calls, and e-mails to offer your kind words on the passing of Tim's dad, Greg.  We miss him daily, but he lives on in our hearts.
