Happy boy

Aaron is such a fun and happy little boy. We are SO blessed! He greets us every morning with a big smile (even in the wee hours of the morning, if he wakes up) and has an endless supply to keep us going through the day. He loves to play with his toys, chew on things, scoot around the floor, jump in his exersaucer, take baths, listen to books and music, and be tickled! He thinks it's hilarious when you startle him with a 'boo' and giggles in delight! Aaron is trying to sit up and loves it when you take his hands and pull him to sitting. He can sit up for a tiny bit on his own, if you get his stance nice and wide to balance his chubby mid-section! He enjoys 5 bottles a day (usually eats 5-8 ounces per feeding) and watches people intently as they eat. We think that it's time to get him going on some rice cereal, so watch this space for the photos! Thanks for checking in on us!

Friends!

Here are a few pictures of Aaron and his buddy, Connor. For those of you who don't know, Connor belongs to my friend Kate. Kate and I do a day care share, so while each of us works part-time, the other one is taking care of our boys. It's working out really well and the boys seem to really enjoy each other! Connor just celebrated his 1st birthday last weekend and we were really bummed to miss his birthday party. :( Here are a few pictures of the boys during their adventures!

Our little sleeper

Aaron is getting SO active, that he ends up sleeping in ways that we would have never imagined! You can put him down in one spot and never know what you'll find when you check on him again. I have been trying to capture a few of these and here they are! He's also really become a stomach sleeper in the past month. No matter how many times we roll him over, he ends up on his stomach a few minutes later!

September fun!

Passing on some new photos of Aaron. He's had a fun September so far. We took a trip to Fort Dodge, so he got to spend time with lots of friends and family there. He loves watching the other kids- I think that he just can't wait till he can run around with them! They are all really good about talking to him (making him laugh and smile) and they love to hold him! Aaron has been enjoying trip to the park and loves the swings. This weekend, Kate and I took Aaron and Connor up to Wisconsin to go apple picking at Apple Holler and had a great time. Aaron liked strolling along and watching Connor take bites out of apple after apple after apple. I think he bit out of 6 apples by the time we were done! Thanks for checking in on us!

BIG boy!

Just a quick update- Aaron had his 4 month check-up and shots today. He weighed in at 16 pounds 8 ounces (> 50th percentile) and is 25 inches long (75th - 90th percentile). Dr. Kadzin said that Aaron looks great!

Go Packers!

Sending out a photo of the cutest little Packer fan that you will ever see!  He's ready for the big game tonight and is really hoping things go well for the Pack!

4 months old!

Just a quick update from the Coenen household.  Aaron turned 4 months old yesterday and celebrated in style, with a trip to Milwaukee to visit Amy and Arthur, Beth and Laura while Mom and Dad went the Brewers game.  He loves visiting his family and is looking forward to a trip to Fort Dodge this upcoming weekend.  Aaron is doing great and changing a ton every day.  He really enjoys playing with his toys now- bringing all of them to his mouth for a good chomp!  He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 4 month appointment and shots (as well as a follow-up check because he had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago), so I'll try to get on and update his weight and length.  We know that he's over 16.5 pounds now and has graduated to size 3 diapers!!!  He's no little thing- that's for sure!

We took our first family vacation on Labor Day weekend to see our wonderful friends, Beth and Meghan, who moved to Atlanta about a year ago.  We had a great time and they were amazing hosts!  We did a lot of hanging out at home, playing games and grilling, which allowed Aaron to stay on a relatively normal schedule, which was really nice.  They had fun meeting Aaron for the first time and he loved them!  I'll include a few pictures of the trip.  Check out the darling hat that they bought for Aaron at the World of Coke!  (Thanks guys!)

Thanks for checking in on us.  Hope that you're all doing well!

Bathing beauty!

Bath time is one of Aaron's favorite times of the day.  He loves to 'talk' while he's in the bathtub and is starting to splash around and think that is kind of funny!  Here are some pictures of our bathing beauty!

I love to play!

Aaron loves to play with his toys.... and these are some of his favorites!  He likes to look at his handsome face in the mirror, and Connor loves to join him!  Connor enjoys trying to put his fingers in Aaron's eyes, nose, and mouth, as well as crawling over top of him.  Aaron generally just watches him, laughing and smiling!  They have become fast friends!  Aaron is reaching out for toys now and occasionally will get ahold of one and try to take it to his mouth.  His hands are still his favorite toy and he loves to chew on this thumbs all the time!  He is drooling like crazy, so we're thinking that a tooth might be on it's way?!

More big pics!

Because I'm new to this blog thing, I didn't realize that I could make the pictures so big!  Going to add a few of the others again, in BIG size!  Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we do!

More pictures!

Aaron is 12 weeks old!

Aaron took his first trip to Fort Dodge, Iowa to meet the rest of the family and attend his baby shower this past week.  We had a great time and he was a big hit!  He loved watching his cousins all run around!

He's growing and changing so much that it's really hard to believe that 12 short weeks ago, he was a newborn!  Aaron had his first professional photos taken also, so we'll share some of them here.  They turned out great- thanks to Aunt Amy for her help and to Nanny for watching Brett and Claire so that Amy could help me!

Aaron is now sleeping almost all the way through the night- he usually goes to sleep at about 8:30 pm and gets up between 4:30 and 5:30 am for a bottle and then goes right back to sleep until around 6:30 or 7:30.  We're pretty pleased with that!  Aaron started rolling from his back to his stomach this past week as well, so now we REALLY can't leave him unattended anywhere except on the floor or in his crib.  I went in to find him sleeping on his tummy this morning, so I guess now he gets to decide on his sleeping position!  He can often be found with his entire legs sticking out between the slats of his crib, which is a bit scary!

Thanks for checking in on us!  Love Always-  Tim, Ann, & Aaron Coenen
