Aaron Gregory at 2 years old

Aaron is 2 years old and brings so much joy to our lives! Here's a snapshot of what Aaron is up to.

-Aaron weighs 31 1/2 lbs (75th-90th percentile) and is 35 1/4 inches tall (75th percentile).
-As you can see by his growth, Aaron continues to be a great eater, most of the time.
-Some of his favorite foods are: almost all fruits and veggies (especially stawberries, blueberries, watermelon, pears, plums, oranges, cucumbers, tomatoes, and bell peppers), yogurt covered raisins, chicken nuggets, sweet potato fries, grilled cheese sandwiches, tacos, pizza, the list goes on and on! He loves to drink chocolate milk and sour juice (aka limeade)!
-Aaron is quite the little talker, much to the delight of his SLP mommmy! He speaks in 4-10 word phrases and he talks constantly- all day night and even some in his sleep! As we were looking at a book this morning, Aaron pointed to a picture and told me, "Look Mommy- Elmo is swimming with the fishies under the water!" His favorite thing to say is, "Aaron do it self" and "I do it myself, Mommy!" Aaron has to be reminded a lot that he shouldn't whine. He sits in time out when he misbehaves or doesn't listen and this generally happens several times a day.
-Aaron loves to read books (as you will see in some of the photos) and will answer all kinds of Wh questions about the stories that we read. He is starting to "read" some of the stories himself, especially the ones that we read all the time. A few of his favorite books are The Napping House, Oh the Thinks You Can Think, Elmo books, and Duck Soup.
-Aaron loves to sing songs. Some of his favorites are Down By the Station, The Wheels on the Bus, ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Shoo Fly, and Rain Rain Go Away.
-Aaron is VERY active and loves to run, jump, trot, climb- the more daring the activity, the more he likes it! He loves to play at the park, attend classes at My Gym, and run around our house like a monkey! Aaron can go up and down the stairs without even holding on to the railing, jump up and down on two feet, and jump off an elevated surface with two feet. He can throw and catch a ball (big and small), hit a ball of of a tee, and even swing a golf club and hit the little golf ball. It's amazing to us how coordinated and active Aaron is!
-Aaron knows his ABC's and is starting to be able to identify a few letters. He knows that Aaron starts with an A, Connor with a C, Mommy with an M, and Daddy with a D. We're starting to work on the sounds that the letters make, but he only knows a couple of them. Aaron can count to 10, skipping a number at times! He can use his finger to count objects, usually up to 5.
-Aaron likes to color and paint for short periods of time and can draw lines and circles. He likes to play with play dough and put stickers on paper. He is attending to 'artsy' things a little more every day, but favors active activities.
-Aaron sleeps in a big boy bed now. He goes to bed at about 7:45 pm and gets up between 6:30 and 7 am. He takes 1 nap per day, around 12:30 or 1 pm and usually sleeps for about an hour and a half to two hours.
-Aaron has been peeing on the potty for 5 or 6 months now and is in the process of full on potty training now. He is doing a great job and should be using the toilet all the time soon!
-Aaron is a very social little guy and loves talking and playing with his friends and family.

Aaron is an amazing little boy and brings an incredible amount of joy and excitement to our lives! We love him very much and feel so proud to call him our son!

Miss Maggie Lynn at 2 months old

Maggie Lynn is 2 months old! We are hoping that all of the months of her life don't go as quickly as the first 2 have!

Maggie is a delightful little girl! At 2 months old, Maggie weighs 13 lbs and 9 ounces (90th percentile) and is 23 3/4 inches long (90th percentile). She is starting to coo, giggle, and smile at us quite a bit. Maggie is a great eater and she sleeps very well, often for 8-10 hour stretches at night and usually she just gets up one time between 4 and 5 to eat. She likes her bath and is quite the little splasher! Maggie loves to lay on her changing table (especially the make shift one on the dining room table), likes her special swing, and loves hearing her mommy, daddy, and brother talk to her! She can track visual and auditory stimuli and loves to sit in her bouncy seat and 'talk' to the racoon! Maggie tolerates some tummy time a couple of times a day and uses her feet and arms to push herself when she is on her stomach. (One day I draped her over the boppy pillow on her stomach and came back to find her on the other side of the pillow! Wish I could have watched her do that!)

We love Maggie and we feel so fortunate to have her as part of our family!

Aaaron's 2nd birthday celebration!

My mom, dad, Amy, Brett, and Claire all came to Chicago to help us celebrate Aaron's 2nd birthday. We had fun filled weekend that included a trip to Chuck E. Cheese, dinner out at the restaurant that Aaron calls his favorite (along with "Old McDonalds" aka McDonalds and Chuck E. Cheese), Smoke Daddy, followed by cake and gifts, and a trip to Pump It Up!

Here are some pics of the cake and presents. Sorry they are all out of order!

A big thanks to Brett for sharing his second birthday cake with us! Brett won a birthday cake on the radio on his birthday, but he already had a birthday cake, so he brought the second one to share with Aaron and the rest of us!

Oops- we didn't have any candles except this "1" candle from Aaron's first birthday!

Do you think that Aaron liked the cake?

Aaron got some really cute monkey stuff (toothbrush holder, soap dispenser, cup, trash can, rug, etc.) for his bathroom. Here he is holding the shower curtain hooks!

Here is the toothbrush holder that got broken right after this photo! Will have to pick up another one of those!

Claire is modeling the gardening/rain books that they got for Aaron.

Brett and Aaron are modeling their England soccer shirts that Karen & Steve sent them for their birthdays. Love em'

Aaron loved the grow kit that Amy and the kids gave him.
