We had a full house a few weeks ago and wanted to share some pictures of our adventures. Amy and Tabitha packed up their 5 kids and made the 6 hour trek from Fort Dodge to Chicago to visit us recently. We had 7 kids, 3 moms and a dad staying in our house and we had a blast!
We thought we would end up just hanging around our house and the neighborhood most of the time, but ended up taking the kids on a lot of different outings. Kate joined us for many of them with Connor & Sawyer, which had us up to 9 kids and 4 moms! We were quite the sight.
The night they all arrived, Tabitha, Amy, and I took the 3 & over group to the Brooks & Dunn concert, while the 2 & unders went to bed at home! I got free tickets from a friend of mine and we had a lot of fun. The kids were excited about the idea of going to the concert, but once we got there, mostly just wanted to get a drink and lay down on the blanket! (To be fair- we didn't get there until 9 pm and they had a long day in the car, so they were all pretty tired out!) We had lawn seats, which worked out perfectly- the kids laid down and fell asleep and we enjoyed the music.
Lilly's one request of the trip was that she wanted to go to the beach. So we packed some lunch and all of the towels, toys, etc. and headed to North Ave beach one day. The kids had a great time playing in the water and the sand. The whole thing started to fall apart as it got hot and the little ones got sleepy, so we packed it up and headed home!
Another day we took the kids to the Museum of Science and Industry. Everyone had a great time on this adventure and we even managed to take Aaron, Connor, Lilly, Brett, & Claire to a movie at the Imax!
Our trip to the bowling alley was among the highlights of the trip. They have a little restaurant at the Diversey River Bowl, so we went and had some dinner and then did some bowling. This was really fun for everyone!
Rub a dub dub, 6 kids in a tub! Eli wasn't enjoying this bath much, but the others had a great time! Good thing we have a BIG bath tub!
We also made a trip to the water playground at Adams Park. The kids had a great time playing in the water and going down the slide. Our least successful outing was to Target, where coffee, lemonade, & popcorn were all spilled in the aisles while we attempted to shop a little and pick up a few things! Needless to say, there we didn't try to do any other shopping excursions!
Thanks for coming to visit us guys! Can't wait to do it again!

Lovely...that was a fun trip! We are brave Mommies :)
Perhaps onlookers just figured you were auditioning for a new show on TLC. :) To be especially confusing with a set of twins as mommies. I'd have been confused as all get out!
Looks like you all had a great time. Thanks for sharing bits of your trip with everyone.
:) Brianne
