Trip down memory lane

As most of you know, my twin sister Amy has a little boy named Brett. Brett was born on April 28th, 4 years before Aaron. I spoiled Brett just a little bit and cute little clothes always ended up jumping in my shopping cart for him! Now that is totally working out to my advantage, because Aaron is getting to wear all of the fun clothes that Brett had! Thankfully, they seem to be following the same growth patterns so far (Brett was also a good sized boy, though he's a thin little guy now because he never stops running around). So Aaron is often wearing clothes that Amy and I have vivid memories of Brett wearing. This outfit was one of my favorites, so I had to put a couple of these pictures up for Amy and Brett to see! Awwww.....

Weekend fun!

Just sharing a little bit of our fun from the weekend! Aaron is getting more fun every day- we are really enjoying how his little personality is coming out. On the flip side to that, he's also getting a little more opinionated and slightly less easy going, so I guess you take the good with the not quite as good! Here are some pictures of our weekend. The first two are of our trip to the Lincoln Park Zoo on Saturday (the weather was perfect this weekend) and the third one is of Aaron in the shirt that our friend Shevawn gave him when he was born (watch what you say, my mom's an SLP!). The fourth picture needs a little explanation. Aaron's new favorite thing to do is purse his lips up and blow air and spit out of them, sort of like a raspberry, but usually without his tongue sticking out! He loves to 'talk' and for a week or so, he was constantly babbling the syllable 'bu' over and over. He then figured out if he put a little more force behind it, his lips would make this great sound and sometimes sit would even come out! You can imagine his excitement! He even enjoyed making that noise through church yesterday! (He's also wearing the onesie with the big A that Lindzy made for him, which we love!) The last picture is of Aaron, after eating rice cereal in his high chair, sporting his Coenen University t-shirt that Angie and Tony had made for him! Hope everyone had a great weekend! Until next time.....

Friday fun!

Just adding a few photos for some Friday fun! Tim and Aaron are posing in a very cheesy fashion with Aaron's rice cereal. Our little pumpkin has fallen asleep during his last bottle in his new bib from Tanya! Aaron is having fun with his Pop-A-Pillar toy that Liz and Laura gave to him. And finally, Aaron loves his little duck water toy. Have a great weekend! Thanks for checking in on us!

I love rice cereal!

Aaron ate rice cereal for the first time on Saturday! He seemed to know what to do from all of the time that he spends watching others.... the spoon came towards his mouth and he opened up! (May also be because he puts everything in his mouth right now, but we'll just assume that it's because he's so smart!) This morning was his third time eating cereal and he seems to be eating a little more every time. He definitely acts like he enjoys the whole process and often smiles between bites!

Almost 5 months

Here are a few pictures from the weekend. Aaron will be 5 months old on Tuesday! Where has the time gone?

Happy boy

Aaron is such a fun and happy little boy. We are SO blessed! He greets us every morning with a big smile (even in the wee hours of the morning, if he wakes up) and has an endless supply to keep us going through the day. He loves to play with his toys, chew on things, scoot around the floor, jump in his exersaucer, take baths, listen to books and music, and be tickled! He thinks it's hilarious when you startle him with a 'boo' and giggles in delight! Aaron is trying to sit up and loves it when you take his hands and pull him to sitting. He can sit up for a tiny bit on his own, if you get his stance nice and wide to balance his chubby mid-section! He enjoys 5 bottles a day (usually eats 5-8 ounces per feeding) and watches people intently as they eat. We think that it's time to get him going on some rice cereal, so watch this space for the photos! Thanks for checking in on us!

Friends!

Here are a few pictures of Aaron and his buddy, Connor. For those of you who don't know, Connor belongs to my friend Kate. Kate and I do a day care share, so while each of us works part-time, the other one is taking care of our boys. It's working out really well and the boys seem to really enjoy each other! Connor just celebrated his 1st birthday last weekend and we were really bummed to miss his birthday party. :( Here are a few pictures of the boys during their adventures!

Our little sleeper

Aaron is getting SO active, that he ends up sleeping in ways that we would have never imagined! You can put him down in one spot and never know what you'll find when you check on him again. I have been trying to capture a few of these and here they are! He's also really become a stomach sleeper in the past month. No matter how many times we roll him over, he ends up on his stomach a few minutes later!

More pics

September fun!

Passing on some new photos of Aaron. He's had a fun September so far. We took a trip to Fort Dodge, so he got to spend time with lots of friends and family there. He loves watching the other kids- I think that he just can't wait till he can run around with them! They are all really good about talking to him (making him laugh and smile) and they love to hold him! Aaron has been enjoying trip to the park and loves the swings. This weekend, Kate and I took Aaron and Connor up to Wisconsin to go apple picking at Apple Holler and had a great time. Aaron liked strolling along and watching Connor take bites out of apple after apple after apple. I think he bit out of 6 apples by the time we were done! Thanks for checking in on us!

Go Packers!

Sending out a photo of the cutest little Packer fan that you will ever see!  He's ready for the big game tonight and is really hoping things go well for the Pack!

4 months old!

Just a quick update from the Coenen household.  Aaron turned 4 months old yesterday and celebrated in style, with a trip to Milwaukee to visit Amy and Arthur, Beth and Laura while Mom and Dad went the Brewers game.  He loves visiting his family and is looking forward to a trip to Fort Dodge this upcoming weekend.  Aaron is doing great and changing a ton every day.  He really enjoys playing with his toys now- bringing all of them to his mouth for a good chomp!  He goes to the doctor tomorrow for his 4 month appointment and shots (as well as a follow-up check because he had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago), so I'll try to get on and update his weight and length.  We know that he's over 16.5 pounds now and has graduated to size 3 diapers!!!  He's no little thing- that's for sure!

We took our first family vacation on Labor Day weekend to see our wonderful friends, Beth and Meghan, who moved to Atlanta about a year ago.  We had a great time and they were amazing hosts!  We did a lot of hanging out at home, playing games and grilling, which allowed Aaron to stay on a relatively normal schedule, which was really nice.  They had fun meeting Aaron for the first time and he loved them!  I'll include a few pictures of the trip.  Check out the darling hat that they bought for Aaron at the World of Coke!  (Thanks guys!)

Thanks for checking in on us.  Hope that you're all doing well!
